A variety of nuts

Macadamia nuts

These nuts, although native to Australia and sometimes known as Queensland nuts, are now much more widely grown. They are not unlike a longer (shelled and skinned) version of our hazelnut - but their shiny brown shells are hard to crack. They are available raw or roasted and salted and are among the richest of nuts with a firm texture and delicate sweetish buttery flavour.

Uses: Serve the roasted salted variety with drinks or use raw (chopped or grated) in biscuits, cakes, sweets and puddings.

To store: Store in a cool dry place. Once opened store in an airtight container and consume within 7 days.
