Rum, rose and cardamom hot toddy cocktails

As Persian and Ottoman flavours become ever more popular, bring a touch of the exotic to your table with this Middle Eastern-inspired take on a classic hot toddy.

300ml golden rum
200ml apple juice
50g caster sugar
4-5 cardamom pods, lightly crushed
Rose extract


1. Pour the golden rum into a pan and add the apple juice, the caster sugar and the cardamom pods.

2. Heat gently, and add a few drops of the rose extract and serve.
