Sticky Gammon Steaks with Leek Mash

    • Gluten Free
    • Preparation time: 10 minutes
    • Cooking time: 20 minutes

    Serves: 2

    Ingredients

    • 450g potatoes, such as Maris Piper, peeled and diced
    • 25 g unsalted butter
    • 1 leek, trimmed, washed and sliced
    • 200 g Waitrose unsmoked gammon steaks
    • 100 g Waitrose spicy peach chutney

    Method

    1. Cook the potatoes in boiling water for about 15 minutes, until tender. Meanwhile, melt the butter in a wide, non-stick frying pan. Add the leek and gently cook for 3-4 minutes, until soft. Drain the potatoes, mash and stir in the leek. Season.
    2. Cut the gammon in half and snip the rind with scissors. Return the frying pan to the heat and cook the gammon for 1-2 minutes each side, until browned. Add the chutney with a dash of water to the pan. Cook for a further 2 minutes, turning the gammon to coat in the sticky sauce. Serve with the mash and a few steamed Waitrose Frozen Fine Beans.
