Premier League footballer Marcus Rashford and award-winning chef Tom Kerridge have joined forces to call full time on childhood hunger and get families across the country cooking filling, nutritious, low-cost meals.

Full Time: Get Cooking with Marcus and Tom is part of the Manchester United player’s  #EndChildFoodPoverty campaign

Every Sunday, Marcus and Tom will share an easy-to-follow cook-along video on Instagram – follow @fulltimemeals to watch them. You’ll be able to see the recipes here, too, so check back each week to try the latest one. From tasty Mexican-style chicken to moreish fish pie jackets, these simple, fun recipes will inspire the whole family to get cooking.

They’ve been specially designed to make the most of Healthy Start vouchers, which can be spent on fresh, frozen or tinned fruit and vegetables, and dried or tinned pulses. The vouchers recently became worth £4.25, up from £3.10, after Marcus’s Child Food Poverty Task Force pressed the government to increase their value.

What's on the menu?

“It’s all about recipes that are filling, fun and cost-effective,” says Tom.

Simplicity is key. A creamy chicken pie is made by ‘cheating’ with a tin of cream of chicken soup, while pizzas are created by spreading tortilla wraps with tomato purée and topping with diced veg. Only basic kitchen equipment is needed – an ingenious omelette is even made inside a kettle, with the egg mixture held in a zip-lock sandwich bag secured by the lid. And Tom has swapped weighing scales for spoons and a mug for measuring.
