Lanson is one of the oldest Champagne houses, established in 1760 by François Delamotte. It took the name Lanson in 1837 when Jean-Baptiste Lanson took over the management of the estate after Delamotte's death. In 1900 Queen Victoria awarded Lanson with a Royal Warrant as an official supplier to the Court of England, a distinction which Lanson has retained ever since. Jean-Paul Gandon insists on delicacy in Lanson Rosé and always tastes the blends in black glasses so he is not influenced by its colour, hence its pale salmon tint. Its fine raspberry character, with the signature Lanson freshness, makes it perfect with smoked salmon, slightly spicy dishes or as a celebratory apéritif.
