This rump steak is tender, juicy and full of flavour. At Waitrose & Partners, we only buy meat from farmers we know and trust. Our grass and forage fed Hereford beef comes from a small group of British farmers, chosen for their high animal welfare standards and their commitment to sustainable farming. Their beef comes from cattle sired by registered pedigree Hereford bulls, and has a fine marbling of fat, which makes it succulent and gives it a unique, rich avour. Dry ageing makes this naturally delicious beef even better, deepening the flavour, and leaving it melt-in-the-mouth tender. Our beef is always British and always sourced from trusted farmers.

PAN FRY. Time: Rare 2-4 mins Medium 4-6 mins Well Done 6-8 mins. Heat 1 tbsp oil in frying pan. Add steak and cook on high heat for 1 minute on each side to seal, reduce heat to medium and cook for remaining time. Due to the natural variability in the thickness of the meat, the cooking instructions provided are a base guide. For thicker steaks, additional cooking time may be required. Ensure the surface of the meat is thoroughly cooked. Once cooked, allow to rest for 5 minutes before serving.
