  • To Hand Make. 1. Place the bread mix in a mixing bowl and gradually add the water using a round bladed knife to combine until a dough is formed.. 2. Tip the dough onto a floured worktop (or place in a food mixer fitted with a dough hook) and knead for about 10 minutes until the dough is smooth and elastic.. 3. Place the dough back in the mixing bowl and cover with a clean tea towel and leave to rest in a warm place for 30 minutes.. 4. When rested drizzle over 1 tsp of the oilve oil then turn the dough over and drizzle with remaining oil.. 5. Cover with a tea towel and leave to rest in a warm place for 20 minutes. Preheat the oven to 220oC, gas mark 7.. 6. Tip the dough onto a floured worktop coating each side lightly with flour. Cut and shape into 2 medium sized ciabatta by stretching each piece of dough to a flat slipper shape. Place on a lightly floured baking tray.. 7. Bake in the oven for about 20 minutes until lightly golden and risen. Place on a wire cooling rack.. If using a breadmaker, follow the manufacturer's instructions for a pizza dough using 340ml water. When the dough is formed, tip into a bowl and follow the above from step 3.
