The House of Sandeman

The true specialism of the House of Sandeman, Tawny Ports. Attendees will be taken through the history of tawny Port production and the importance of the House of Sandeman in its evolution from 19th century folly to modern day fanfare, finishing with a blending exercise of three 20 YO Tawny base wines).


Champagne Louis Roederer and Sparkling Masterclass

A tasting masterclass of a selection of various
Champagne cuvees from the house of Louis
Roederer (rated the most admired
Champagne Brand in the World 2018 by
Drinks International) to include their most
recent release; the already iconic ‘Cristal Brut
2008’. Hosted by Charles Taverner (who has
worked in the UK Champagne industry for
25 years), the tasting will also include an
opportunity to experience the award winning
Sparkling Wines from their Californian
outpost ‘Roederer Estate’.


Make Your Mark

An immersive and interactive masterclass led
by Makers Mark Brand Diplomat, Amanda
Humphrey. Discover the history and craft of
Makers Mark before making your mark on a
classic Mint Julep cocktail. Experiment with a
variety of flavours, garnishes and syrups to
make your twist on this refreshing, classic serve.
Attendees will receive a unique Makers Mark
Julep Tin to take away, hand dipped in the
signature Makers Mark red wax during
the masterclass.


Fine wine parcels - When they're gone, they're gone...

Our buyers sometimes encounter parcels of amazing wines which are often too small in volume to warrant a permanent listing at Waitrose, but too good to pass by. With an
ever changing range of parcels from Italy, Bordeaux, The Rhone, Burgundy, Spain and South Africa these are special wines to
watch out for because once they are gone,
they are gone. Each wine will be presented by the buyer in person, who will tell you all about their discoveries so come along, try them for
yourselves and meet the Waitrose Wine Buyers at the same time.


A journey with Tenute Piccini

A Tuscan journey, from Chianti Classico to
Montalcino, with a little detour: an indigenous
white grape, coming from the slopes of the
Etna Volcano, will in fact open the tasting and
wake up our tasting buds. Four generations
of a family fully dedicated to its vine-growing
passion started in the Chianti Classico area
back in the 1882. Now the properties include
organically farmed boutique estates in
Tuscany, as well as in the volcanic areas of
Mt Etna – Sicily and Vulture – Basilicata.

a unique combination of modern artistry
and traditional production techniques that
have been refined by generations of distillers

Waitrose Drinks Festival, we’ll be inviting
you to join us to create your own gin, blending
your own selection from a range of botanicals
pre-distilled by Audemus Spirits. Together with
the gin experts from Waitrose, we’ll judge the
entries and the winning blend will be produced
