Saké
This is a traditional Japanese rice wine. Sawanotsuru Deluxe Saké is available from Waitrose.
Uses: Saké can be served warm or chilled as a drink. It is also used as a cooking ingredient and is said to tenderise, to supress unwanted strong smells, to tone down saltiness and to peserve delicate flavours. Saké is slightly stronger than mirin.
