Shortbread

A traditional Scottish biscuit which is made from sugar, flour and butter. Shortbread has a crumbly texture, a rich melt-in-the-mouth texture and a pale golden colour. Individual shortbread biscuits are also available, either plain or with pieces of stem ginger or chocolate added.

Uses: Shortbread is a popular choice to serve with afternoon tea or morning coffee. Individual biscuits can be spread with whipped cream and topped with fresh strawberries to make strawberry shortcakes.
