    Mulled Grapes with Cinnamon Cream

    This is a deliciously simple recipe that uses Italia grapes and takes only minutes to prepare.

    • Total time: 10 minutes 10 minutes

    Serves: 4


    • 150ml fruity red wine
    • 85g caster sugar
    • 5 whole cloves
    • 2cm piece fresh root ginger, peeled
    • 350g mixed black and green Italia grapes, cut into small sprigs and washed
    • The cinnamon cream
    • 300ml Waitrose Double Cream
    • 2 tbsp icing sugar, sifted
    • ½ tsp ground cinnamon


    1. Pour the wine into a saucepan with the sugar, cloves, ginger and 150ml water. Heat gently, stirring until the sugar has dissolved.
    2. Add the grapes and simmer gently for 5 minutes. Turn off the heat and leave to cool slightly.
    3. Softly whip the cream then fold in the sugar and cinnamon. Spoon the grapes and syrup into four serving dishes and top with a spoonful of cinnamon cream.
