    Pan-fried Halloumi with Chilli

    Pan-fried Halloumi with Chilli

    • Preparation time: 20 minutes
    • Cooking time: 5 minutes
    • Total time: 25 minutes 25 minutes

    Serves: Serves 6 to 8 as a nibble

    Ingredients

    • 2 tbsp chopped, deseeded fresh red chilli (3-4 medium chillies)
    • 4 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
    • 2 x 250g packets Halloumi cheese, sliced medium-thin
    • Juice of ½ lemon

    Method

    1. Mix the chopped chilli and olive oil in a small bowl and leave while you cook the cheese. Heat a non-stick frying pan over a medium heat, without any oil, and fry the cheese slices for about 2 minutes a side until golden-brown in parts. When all are cooked, transfer to a couple of small plates. Stir the chilli oil, spoon it over the cheese, then give a spritz of lemon and serve.
