    Sausage and bean casserole

    • Preparation time: 15 minutes
    • Cooking time: 30 minutes
    • Total time: 45 minutes 45 minutes

    Serves: 4


    • 120g kale, cabbage or spinach, finely shredded
    • 1 tbsp olive oil
    • 454g pack essential Waitrose British sausages
    • 1 large onion, finely chopped
    • 200ml chicken or ham stock
    • 400g can essential Waitrose chopped tomatoes
    • 410g can essential Waitrose cannellini beans


    1. Warm the oil in a saucepan over a medium-high heat and fry the sausages until they begin to take on some colour. Remove from the pan and put to one side.
    2. Reduce the heat, add the onion to the pan and cook until translucent. Pour in the stock, tomatoes and beans and return the sausages to the pan.
    3. Simmer gently, partially covered, for 30 minutes. Stir in the greens for the last 5 minutes of cooking time. Serve with crusty bread, rice or pasta
