Sweet Mincemeat Squares

This is a little different from having the same old Mincemeat tarts.

  • Total time: mixing about 10mins and baking 40-45 minutes

Serves: 6

  • 1 jar of Waitrose Sweet Mincemeat or home made

    Crumb Mixture
    1 1/3 cups of flour
    1/4 tsp. baking soda
    1 3/4 cups oats
    1 cup of brown sugar
    3/4 cup of soft butter

  1. Measure flour into mixing bowl with the baking soda and stir to blend in. Then stir in oats and brown sugar. Work in butter with finger tips until crumbly. Pat half of this mixture into a lightly greased 9 inch square pan, making sure pan is complete covered with mixture. Then spread the jar of mincemeat of top of this base. Then sprinkle the reserved crumbly mixture on top but do not press mixture as hard as for the base. Must be a bit crumbly. Bake at 375 degress for about 40-45 minutes until golden. When cool cut into little squares.
