    Toffee Cherry Slices

    Let the children help to make this no-bake treat using some of their favourite ingredients. Topped with chocolate, these tempting slices will appeal to anyone with a sweet tooth!

    • Preparation time: 10 minutes, plus at least 1 hour chilling
    • Cooking time: 5 minutes
    • Total time: 1 hour 15 minutes 60 minutes 15 minutes

    Makes: 10 pieces


    • 150g pack Werther's Original Chewy Toffees
    • 50g butter, cut into cubes
    • 1 tbsp milk
    • 200g tub Waitrose Glacé Fruits Provençal Cherries
    • 50g Waitrose Rice Pops
    • 50g milk chocolate


    1. Line the base and sides of a 1kg loaf tin with baking parchment. Unwrap the toffees and place in a pan with the butter and milk. Heat gently, stirring until melted and smooth. Remove from the heat and stir in the cherries and rice pops.
    2. Tip the mixture into the loaf tin, press down gently with the back of a spoon and smooth the top. Break the chocolate into pieces and place in a heatproof bowl over a pan of simmering water until melted, then drizzle over the top of the loaf. Chill in the fridge for at least 1 hour until firm.
    3. Remove the loaf from the tin, peel off the baking parchment and place on a board. Cut into generous pieces with a sharp knife. Keep in the fridge in an airtight container and eat within 1 day.
