Preparation & Storage
- Ideas to keep... Combine cooked Couscous with feta cheese, tomatoes, red onion and a splash of balsamic syrup for a tasty Greek-style lunch. Boil with fresh thyme and slices of lemon and serve with warm baked salmon and baby spinach. Add half a spoonful of both cumin and paprika, then cook as suggested. Serve the Couscous with Meatballs and a spicy tomato sauce.
To make the best Giant Couscous: Gently fry 100g of Couscous for 2-3 minutes in a little olive oil. When golden brown, add 200ml of cold water to the pan and stir continuously until all of the water has been absorbed. Add more water as necessary until the Couscous is soft throughout. This should take approximately 16 minutes. Serve straight away.Or for a quicker method, empty the Couscous into a pan of boiling stock. Boil for 6-8 minutes, stirring occasionally. Drain using a sieve and serve. This method is great for using in salads or when you are short of time.
Store in a cool, dry place.
