Rich, complex, enticingly-scented - a glorious red from Lebanon's famous Chateau Musar, among the world's top wine estates. This sophisticated dinner party red - on the same quality level as a top red Bordeaux.Founded in 1930, Chateau Musar perpetuates Lebanon's 6,000 year-old winemaking tradition. Winemaker Serge Hochar was 'Decanter' magazine's first 'Man of the Year' in 1984, for his dedication to producing superb wines throughout Lebanon's Civil War. Chateau Musar's red grapes are grown in 40 - 50 year-old vineyards in the foothills of Mount Lebanon. At around 1,000m above sea level, grapes ripen slowly to perfection in moderate temperatures. Varied soil types contribute to wine complexity. To ensure maturity on release, Chateau Musar's red wines are aged for 7 years, including 1 year in French oak barrels. The estate is one of only a handful in the world to age their wines for this long, producing unique and very long-lived styles.""Drink it with pleasure now: all that soft, velvety, peppery, spicy, earthy, even chocolatey quality is already there in spades.""- Simon Hoggart, The Spectator, February 2007.""Drink it with pleasure now: all that soft, velvety, peppery, spicy, earthy, even chocolatey quality is already there in spades.""- Simon Hoggart, The Spectator, February 2007.
