    Manhattan

    A classic cocktail often credited to a New York bartender in the 1880s. Its star ingredients are American bourbon and a maraschino cherry on top. 

    Serves: 1

    Ingredients

    50ml bourbon
    25ml sweet vermouth
    2 dashes Angostura Bitters
    Ice
    Orange zest, to garnish
    Maraschino cherry, to garnish

    Method

    Pour 50ml bourbon, 25ml sweet vermouth and 2 dashes Angostura Bitters into a mixing glass of ice. Stir, then strain into a chilled martini glass. Garnish with orange zest and a maraschino cherry.
