    Cottage pie burgers

    Serves: 4


    400g pack essential Waitrose Minced British Beef Lean Mince (typically 10% fat)
    1 tbsp essential Waitrose Tomato Purée
    25g pack fresh parsley, chopped
    400g pack essential Waitrose Mashed Potato
    25g essential Waitrose Plain Flour
    50g essential Waitrose Cheddar Cheese, grated


    1. Preheat the oven to 200ºC, gas mark 6. Mix the beef with the tomato purée, half the parsley and season well. Divide into 4 and press into 4 x 10cm round burger shapes and place on a baking tray.

    2. Cook the mashed potato according to pack instructions and mix with the flour, remaining parsley and half the Cheddar. Pile on top of the burgers (but not going right to the edges).

    3. Sprinkle over the remaining cheese and bake for 15 minutes until golden. Serve with cooked peas.
