400g pack essential Waitrose Mashed Potato
120g pack essential Waitrose British Oak Smoked Ham
25g essential Waitrose Cheddar cheese, grated
50g essential Waitrose Plain White Flour
1 essential Waitrose Free Range Egg
50ml semi skimmed milk
Oil for frying
1. Spread the mash over one half of each of the ham slices, scatter cheese on the mash and fold the other half of the ham over. Chill until needed.
2. Meanwhile, place the flour in a bowl, whisk in the egg then gradually whisk in the milk to give a smooth batter. Season to taste.
3. Heat the oil for deep frying. Dip the fritters in the batter and then into the oil and fry for 2–3 minutes until golden. Drain on kitchen paper. Serve with salad.
