Joint

1. A cut of medium to large meat usually cooked by roasting, eg roast the joint of beef in the oven.

2. To divide a large piece of meat or poultry into individual portion-sized pieces, eg joint the chicken into 6 pieces.

Jointed

A large piece of meat or poultry that has been cut into smaller pieces, eg fry the jointed chicken pieces until golden brown.
