Pulse

1. The edible seed of a pod-bearing plants such as peas, beans and lentils eg add a selection of pulses to the soup.

2. A pulse button on a food processor allows the processor to be operated in a start-stop action to control the texture of various foods. The motor keeps running for as long as the pulse button is pressed down, eg add the beaten eggs through the feeder tube and pulse until well combined.
