Blinis

Blinis

These are small, thick savoury pancakes, originally from Russia and traditionally served warm topped with caviar and soured cream. Waitrose sell Koushka cocktail blinis in packs of 16.

Uses: Blinis can be served with a wide variety of toppings including smoked salmon and soured cream, cream cheese and prawn, chicken and mayonnaise or sun-dried tomato and houmous.

To store: Keep in the fridge and consume by the use by date. Blinis may be frozen for up to 1 month on the day of purchase.

To prepare: To heat, preheat the oven to 200c, gas mark 6. Place the blinis on a baking tray and heat in the oven for 4 minutes. Alternatively, place under a preheated medium grill for 3 1/2 minutes, turning once.
