Peanut

One of the most popular savoury snack nuts, peanuts, which are also known as groundnuts are the seeds of a pod bearing plant that originated in South America. Peanuts are high in protein and unsaturated fats. Peanuts are sold in a variety of forms at Waitrose including roasted and salted peanuts and Honey roasted peanuts.

Uses: Peanuts can be added to salads or stir-fries. They are often included in south east Asian dishes and are a main ingredient in the popular Malaysian and Indonesian satay sauce for grilled meat and in peanut butter. They are also a popular snack and are often served with pre-dinner drinks.

To store: Keep in a cool, dark place and once opened store in an airtight container and consume within 7 days.
