A member of the mandarin family, these sweet seedless bright orange citrus fruits are a popular choice throughout the winter months. They are easy to peel because the skin is not firmly attached to the fruit. Choose fruit that are shiny and healthy looking and avoid any with bruised or discoloured skin.
Uses: Peel and eat the segments or include in savoury or fruit salads or add the segments to sauces for game, duck or turkey.
To store: Keep at room temperature for 3-4 days or in the fridge for up to 1 week.
To prepare: Peel and remove any white membrane from the segments using a pair of kitchen scissors or your fingers.
