Essential Waitrose Turkeys are brilliant value and offer high welfare standards and succulent meat. They come in our biggest sizes to feed 8-16 people.
Free range plumpie turkeys are a slow-growing, white feathered breed. With free access to open pastures, they’re known for their tender, well-flavoured breast meat and have a milder taste than our free range birds.
Free range bronzed-feathered turkeys are a traditional, slow-growing breed, with a deep, slightly gamey flavour, and firm-textured meat. The range includes organic as well as dry-aged birds, which are hung for at least seven days to really bring out their flavour.
About our turkeys
All Waitrose turkeys come from British and Irish farms, and are reared by carefully chosen farmers who share our values and work to our standards on quality, food safety and animal welfare.
We know every farmer we work with, which means we can trace every bird back to the farm where it was reared. Put simply, the better we look after our birds, the tastier the meat they produce.
See our Turkey Guide to find out more about our turkeys and lots of tips on how best to cook your Christmas dinner.
If you fall into the can’t cook, won’t cook category this Christmas, fear not. Our entertaining service means you can cut out the prep work and pre-order your turkey, trimmings and desserts. All you have to do is stick on the oven and serve. Who said Christmas was stressful?
