Chives

Chives

Chives have a delicate onion flavour and are one of the most well known culinary herbs. Cooking tends to change the flavour, so add just before serving.

Uses: Best used fresh, they can be chopped into sandwiches, salads or used as a garnish. Chives go especially well with cheese and egg dishes.

To store: Store fresh chives in the fridge for 3-4 days. Dried chives should be stored in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight.

To prepare: Chop chives using kitchen scissors and wash after chopping (the small pieces of chives will stick to the scissors if they are wet).
