Game
Wild birds and animals that are sold for their meat. Game are protected by law during the breeding season and while rearing their young. The most widely available game birds are grouse, partridge and pheasant plus several varieties of wild duck and goose. Venison and hare are both classed as game, although farmed venison is also widely available.
