Meringue
A crispy, light and airy dessert made from whisked egg whites and sugar. Individual meringue nests and meringue shells are available.
Uses: Fill individual nests with cream and fruit or for a healthy option (meringues are very low in fat) fill with a mixture of yogurt and chopped fresh fruit. For a quick pud, crumble a couple of meringue nests and stir in some whipped double cream, chopped fresh strawberries and a dash of your favourite fruit liqueur. Meringue shells can be sandwiched together with cream and topped with fruit or melted chocolate.
To store: Keep meringues in the packaging they are sold in for up to 1 year. Once opened, store in an airtight container and use within 1 week.
