Raw peeled Black Tiger prawns.
Naturally farmed.Healthy Option Tiger prawns are high source of Selenium which contributes to the normal function of the immune system. They are also low in fats. A Natural Process Set up with the Anggana Farmer Association, The Happy Prawn Co. farms are located in the archipelago region of Kalimantan (Borneo). These premium tiger prawns are raised in tambaks (ponds) using traditional 'silvofishery' farming methods, which involves no chemicals or artificial feed, and the prawns rely on the natural mangrove ecosystem for their wellbeing. This natural process benefits the prawns and helps productivity, the environment and the farming community. In turn, this allows the prawns to grow to a much larger size than intensively farmed prawns and gives them a premium flavour and texture. Save Orangutans 20p Contributed to the Borneo Orangutan Survival Foundation 20p for every pack sold will be donated to the Borneo Orangutan Survival Foundation. The Borneo Orangutan Survival Foundation (BOSF) is an international non-profit organisation for the protection and conservation of the Borneo Orangutan. Based in Samboja Lestari, The East Kalimantan Orangutan Reintroduction Program was established by BOSF in 1991, specifically to provide care and rehabilitation for displaced or orphaned orangutans in the region. The Sanctuary is located about 38 kilometres from Balikpapan, East Kalimantan. The Anggana Farmer Association and the Happy Prawn Co. support BOSF Samboja Lestari. They do this due to the proximity of the reservation to the farming community and because the Orangutan is the national animal of Borneo, incredibly endangered and part of the Island's identity. The protection of this animal reflects the whole ethos of silvofishery farming, which is fundamentally about the preservation of the environment, its wildlife and the benefits this brings for farmers, communities and way of living.
