Competition Terms and Conditions

The Promoter is set out at the end of these Terms and Conditions.

WHO CAN ENTER

This competition is open to all residents of the United Kingdom excluding Northern Ireland aged 18 years or over, except for employees of the Promoter, its associated companies, agents, third parties or anyone else professionally connected with this competition. If you are under the age of 18, you must obtain parental or guardian consent to enter and claim your prize. The Promoter may require any information that we consider reasonably necessary in order to verify your eligibility.

By submitting a competition entry, you are agreeing to be bound by these terms and conditions. The instructions provided at the point of entry form part of the terms and conditions of this competition. In the event of a conflict, these terms and conditions take precedence. 

No purchase necessary. There is no charge to submit an entry via the website at www.waitrose.com/ecom/content/competitions.

DEADLINE FOR ENTRIES

Entries must be received between 00:01 on 21/06/2023  and 23:59 on 18/07/2023 (the “Closing Date”). Entries received after the Closing Date will not be accepted.

HOW TO ENTER

To enter, simply go to www.waitrose.com/ecom/content/competitions, follow the competition instructions at the top of the page and submit your details and other required information using the online form provided.

There is a limit of one entry per person. Multiple entries submitted directly or with the use of any automated systems will not be entered into the draw.

No responsibility will be accepted for entries that are lost, delayed, mislaid or damaged in transit, regardless of the cause, including, for example, as a result of any equipment failure, technical malfunction, systems, network, server, computer hardware or software failure of any kind. 

Those entries not in accordance with the rules will be void and will entitle the Promoter to exclude the entry from the competition; any entry containing false, incomplete or misleading information will be void and will entitle the Promoter to exclude the entry from the competition. 

THE PRIZE

Prize(s):The Prize is an all-inclusive European boutique luxury river cruise up to the value of £8000 (8000 pounds sterling). For up to two people. 

Included in the prize: 

- Choose any eight day European luxury river cruise available on the Uniworld website (excluding Douro River Valley) with unlimited drink and fine-dining

- Economy flights for two people from any UK airport (up to the value of £300 per person including taxes and fees)

- The prizes are as stated, are not transferable to another individual and no cash or other alternatives will be offered. Prize cannot be upgraded to a long-haul trip, limited to Europe only. Winners can opt to pay the difference above £8,000 to upgrade to a higher cabin. 

Not included in this Prize:

- Any further costs, such as but not limited to, additional nights, travel to and from UK airports and travel insurance are not included.

- The prize cannot be used in conjunction with any other offers, promotions, or discounts.

- Cannot be used on 8 day Douro River Valley itinerary

The Prize must be booked & taken by 31/12/2024. Subject to availability.  Subject to group terms at time of booking, as certain dates may be limited due to a specific charter or departure. 

WINNER SELECTION

All valid and, if applicable, correct entries received by the Closing Date will be entered into a prize draw, and the winners will be picked at random.  

Waitrose will collate all entrants and is responsible for selecting winners at the end of the prize draw period via a digital randomiser.

The Winner(s)’ details (name and county) will be available for one month after the Closing Date by sending a request to the Promoter at Waitrose Limited, CRM & Loyalty Team, Wallace House, Doncastle Road, Southern Industrial Area, Bracknell, RG12 8YA , enclosing a stamped self-addressed envelope

By entering the Prize Draw you agree that your name and email address can be shared with Uniworld for the purpose of fulfilling the Prize should you be a Winner - your data will be retained and covered by the Uniworld privacy policy.

If you have opted in by ticking the box on the entry form, you are opting into newsletters from Uniworld, you agree to the Uniworld Terms and Conditions .

The Prize is strictly non-transferable, non-negotiable and may not be replaced or refunded. There is no cash alternative. The Prize cannot be used in conjunction with any other offers, promotions, or discounts. Any changes, add-ons and additional costs associated with using the Prize (including, airport transfers and travel insurance are the responsibility of the Winner(s). If the Winner(s) does/do not accept any element of the Prize, the Promoter is not obliged to provide the Winner(s) with a substitute Prize. 

The Promoter will not be held liable for any loss, damage or injury which results directly or indirectly from this Promotion, except that which cannot be excluded by law. 

WINNER NOTIFICATION

The Winner(s) will be notified by email, text or phone call as soon as practicable after the Prize Draw, using the contact details provided with the Prize Draw entry. The Winner(s) will be required to respond within 30 days of notification (unless otherwise stated) confirming their acceptance of the Prize. In the event Winner(s) do not respond to communications within this period or if any Prize is declined, the Promoter reserves the right to disqualify that Winner and draw another Winner(s). 

Please allow 30 days from the date of the Winner(s)’ address verification for delivery of the Prize.

DATA PROTECTION AND PUBLICITY

By entering the competition, you understand that for the purposes of administering the competition and prize fulfilment, it is necessary for the Promoter and the following third parties, on our behalf, to hold and process your personal data:

If you have opted-in to receiving further information from the Promoter and/or its agents or suppliers, you agree that the relevant party may use and store these details to provide further information about their products and services (in accordance with the privacy policy of the relevant entity).

If you are the winner of the competition, you agree that the Promoter may use your name, image and county of residence to announce the winner of this competition and for any other reasonable and related promotional purposes, for no further consideration. If you object to us sharing your information please advise accordingly at customerloyalty@waitrose.co.uk. If you are the Winner, you also acknowledge that your details may be required to be provided to the Advertising Standards Agency 

LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

The Promoter and its associated agencies, companies and distributors will not be liable for any loss (including, without limitation, indirect, special or consequential loss or loss of profits), expense or damage which is suffered or sustained (whether or not arising from any person’s negligence) in connection with this competition or accepting or using the prize, except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law (including liability for fraud or death or personal injury arising from negligence) in which case that liability is limited to the minimum allowable by law. Your statutory rights are not affected.

If you have opted-in to receive further information or marketing from any of the Promoter’s agents or suppliers involved in the administration of this competition, you understand and accept that the relevant third party will be solely responsible for any processing of your personal data for these purposes, that such processing will be governed by terms of that third party’s privacy policy and that the Promoter accepts no responsibility or liability in association with any such data processing for these purposes.  

GENERAL

If there is any reason to believe that there has been a breach of these terms and conditions or if the Promoter believes that your conduct may be unlawful or otherwise bring the competition into disrepute, the Promoter may, at its sole discretion, reserve the right to make your entry void and will entitle the Promoter to exclude you from participating in the competition.

The decision of the Promoter regarding any aspect of the competition is final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into.

The Promoter reserves the right to suspend, cancel, or amend the prize competition where it becomes necessary to do so, with no liability to any entrants or third parties.

This competition and all issues arising out of it shall be governed in accordance with English Law and are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
