WHAT DOES IT TASTE LIKE?

Fragrant and warming. The earthiness of cumin and smoked paprika is bolstered by the savoury depth of garlic, the subtle citrus fragrance of ground coriander, the floral aroma of oregano and the pep of red chilli.

easy meal idea

Quick beef, bean & pepper fajitas

For a simple midweek meal with just the right balance of spice, toss thinly sliced frying steak with lime juice, a dash of Worcestershire sauce and a sprinkling of fajita seasoning; set aside for a few minutes to marinate. Using a little oil in a hot frying pan, sizzle sliced peppers and onion until golden and just tender. Stir in more seasoning, plus a can of drained red kidney or black eyed beans. Warm through and move to a plate. Sear the steak in the same pan until browned all over, then serve with the vegetables, warm tortillas and your favourite fajita toppings such as sour cream, cheese, or guacamole.

TIPS, TRICKS & HACKS

  • Whether you like your fajitas with beef, tofu, chicken or veg, a spoonful of fajita seasoning will take them to the next level.
  • As it harnesses all the signature flavours of Tex-Mex food, fajita seasoning can be used in a host of other dishes. Try adding it to the sauce for huevos rancheros, for instance. Or use it in a chilli beef and bean sauce to serve with rice or to roll into enchiladas, burritos or chimichangas.
  • Add a couple of teaspoons when frying the onion base for a pot of rice and beans.
  • Use to season a tray of chunky butternut squash wedges and roast until sweet and fragrant.
  • Sprinkle over cobs of sweetcorn, along with a little grated parmesan and some butter, then roast. Serve with lime wedges for squeezing over, some chopped coriander and red chilli, and a little more fajita seasoning.
