Gentle Heat 10-15 mins
Wash and peel the turnips and cut the turnips into even sized pieces. Place in a pan with just enough water to cover and add salt if desired, cover and bring to the boil. Simmer until tender. Drain well and mash, if desired mash with a little butter to taste.
Oven cook
From Chilled
Gas 6, 200°C, Fan 180°C 25-30 mins
Preheat oven. Adjust times accordingly to your particular oven. (For fan assisted ovens cooking times should be reduced. For best results refer to manufacturer's handbook.) Wash and peel the turnips, and cut into 1/2 inch/12mm even sized cubes. Toss with sea salt and oil. Carefully place on a large baking sheet in a single layer and roast in the oven for 25-30 minutes or until golden and tender.
