Stock brined British chicken with a stock melt, topped with herbed Jersey butter, free range bacon and thyme.

Our No. 1 British Ultimate Whole Chicken has all the ingredients for perfect roast chicken, succulent and full of flavour. We've specially chosen large, plump birds, brined for moist, juicy meat, and a rich stock melt adds even more flavour during cooking. A pat of herbed Jersey butter for basting helps make the skin crisp and golden, and the finishing touch is a smoky Free Range bacon lattice and a sprig of fresh thyme. Delicious with roasties and all the trimmings. All our chicken is from slower reared breeds, raised with more space, by farmers who share our higher welfare values. At Waitrose, Better Chicken is our standard. Find out more about how we're first for animal welfare.
