This recipe guarantees your batter is crispy outside and fluffy on the inside. Serve with seasonal veg and onion gravy for a simple, comforting meal.
100g essential Waitrose Plain Flour
2 essential Waitrose Eggs
200ml essential Waitrose Milk
1 tbsp oil
454g pack 8 essential Waitrose Pork Sausages
1. Preheat the oven to 200oC, gas mark 6. Place the flour in a bowl and season. Make a well in the centre and crack in the eggs. Whisk into the flour, gradually adding the milk until you have a smooth batter. Leave to rest for 15-20 minutes, but ideally for at least 1 hour.
2. While the batter is resting, place the oil and sausages in a 22cm square roasting tin and roast for 15 minutes.
3. Increase the oven to 220oC, gas mark 7. Pour the batter into the tin and cook for a further 20-25 minutes until puffed and golden.
