Our Charity Partners

This Christmas, John Lewis and Waitrose are working with charity partners FareShare and Home-Start to provide support to over 100,000 families in need.

All profits from the Give a Little Love campaign will be split equally between the two charities and shops will work with their local charity branches to give help where it’s needed in their community. This could be through direct funds, food and stock donations, volunteering, emotional support or practical advice.

What does FareShare do?

The UK’s longest running food redistribution charity fights hunger by saving good food from going to waste, and redistributing it to frontline charities and community groups.

Who does it help?

Every week enough food to make almost a million meals reaches school breakfast clubs, older people’s lunch clubs, homeless shelters and community cafés. It helps to feed some of the 8.4 million people in the UK who are struggling to afford to eat: the equivalent of the population of London.

What is Home-Start?

Home-Start is a local community network of trained volunteers and experts helping families through challenging times.

Who does it help?

Families struggling with isolation, post-natal depression, physical or mental health challenges, bereavement and many other issues receive the support of a volunteer who works alongside them to overcome the challenges they are facing.

This Christmas Home-Start will be providing families with much needed emotional support, helping them avoid isolation, connecting them to other local services, delivering food and essential supplies and providing Christmas presents and activities for children.
