WHO CAN ENTER
This prize draw is open to all residents of the United Kingdom excluding Northern Ireland aged 18 years or over, except for employees of the Promoter, its associated companies, agents, third parties or anyone else professionally connected with this prize draw. By submitting a prize draw entry, you are agreeing to be bound by these terms and conditions. The instructions provided at the point of entry form part of the terms and conditions of this prize draw. In the event of a conflict, these terms and conditions take precedence.
No purchase necessary. There is no charge to submit an entry via the website at waitrose.com/wincanada.
DEADLINE FOR ENTRIES
Entries must be received between 00:01 on 25 January 2022 and 23:59 on 23 February 2022 (the “Closing Date”). Entries received after the Closing Date will not be accepted.
HOW TO ENTER
To enter, simply go to waitrose.com/wincanada, follow the prize draw instructions at the top of the page and submit your details and other required information using the online form provided.
There is a limit of one entry per person. Multiple entries submitted directly or with the use of any automated systems will not be entered into the draw.
No responsibility will be accepted for entries that are lost, delayed, mislaid or damaged in transit, regardless of the cause, including, for example, as a result of any equipment failure, technical malfunction, systems, network, server, computer hardware or software failure of any kind.
Those entries not in accordance with the rules will be void and will entitle the Promoter to exclude the entry from the prize draw; any entry containing false, incomplete or misleading information will be void and will entitle the Promoter to exclude the entry from the prize draw.
THE PRIZE
The holiday can only take place if the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office is allowing travel to Canada and the Canadian Government is allowing entry to UK leisure travellers.
The prize is valid for two adults, subject to availability, for travel between 1 May 2023 and 15 June 2023 and 1 September 2023 and 15 October 2023.
The prize is an 11-night holiday in Canada for two people. The prize includes: one set of return tickets in economy class for two adults (taxes included) for a flight from London (Heathrow or Gatwick) to Calgary International Airport, Alberta, returning from Vancouver International Airport to London (Heathrow or Gatwick); a 3-night stay at the Fairmont Banff Springs hotel and a complimentary trip up the Banff Gondola; a 2-night stay at the Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge with a complimentary wildlife discovery tour; a 2-day (one night) train journey aboard the Rocky Mountaineer to Vancouver, British Columbia; a 3-night stay at the Fairmont Waterfront in Vancouver; a float plane to and from Vancouver to Victoria on Vancouver Island; a 2-night stay at the Fairmont Empress hotel on Vancouver Island with a complimentary whale watching trip.
No other day trips, tours or experiences are included in the prize. Any other expenses in the general use of and enjoyment of the prize, that the winner or their guests incur are the sole responsibility of the winner or their guests.
All accommodation is a standard twin or double room.
Meals (including breakfast) are not included in the prize, except when on board the Rocky Mountaineer train.
Service charges and tips are not included in the prize.
The prize does not include access to the lounge, priority security clearance or priority boarding.
Travel is subject to the standard terms and conditions of carriage of the airline.
The prize does not include any UK transport or accommodation. The winner and their guest will be responsible for arranging their own transportation to and from the UK airport. The prize includes transfers from Calgary airport to the Fairmont Banff Springs and from Victoria to Vancouver airport for your return flight home.
Travel insurance is not provided but is mandatory for travel.
It is the winner’s responsibility to ensure that both they, and the person travelling with them, have a valid passport, travel documents and visa and immunisations prior to travel. The winner and their guest must purchase an Electronic Travel Authority (eTA) to enter Canada. Current cost is $7.00 CAD each.
Compliance with any health or other government requirements is the responsibility of the prize-winner. This includes, but is not limited to, any tests needing to be done prior to departure, on arrival in Canada, prior to returning and on arrival back in the UK.
This prize is non-transferable, non-refundable and no cash alternative will be offered. The decision as to the winner is final. No part of the prize can be booked separately.
Flights are subject to availability and flights may be changed or cancelled by the airline for administrative reasons without prior notice.
Once ticketed, flights cannot be changed, and the prize will be forfeited if not taken. The tickets cannot be transferred to any other party or parties. Frequent flyer miles cannot be accrued or redeemed in connection with prize tickets.
No upgrades can be purchased in conjunction with the prize, nor can the destination or number of participants be changed.
In the event that the prize is out of stock or if circumstances beyond the Promoter’s control make it necessary to do so, the Promoter reserves the right to substitute another item, in its sole discretion, of equal or higher value.
WINNER SELECTION
All valid and, if applicable, correct entries received by the Closing Date will be entered into a prize draw, and the winner will be picked at random.
The winner’s details (name and county) will be available for one month after the Closing Date by sending a request to the Promoter at Waitrose Limited, Food Magazine Team, Wallace House, Doncastle Road, Southern Industrial Area, Bracknell, RG12 8YA , enclosing a stamped self-addressed envelope, or by emailing customerserviceteam@waitrose.co.uk.
WINNER NOTIFICATION
The winner will be notified by email, text or phone call as soon as practicable after the prize draw, using the contact details provided with the prize draw entry. The winner will be required to respond within 30 days of notification (unless otherwise stated) confirming their acceptance of the prize. In the event the winner does not respond to communications within this period or if any prize is declined, the Promoter reserves the right to disqualify that winner and draw another winner.
Please allow 7-10 days days from the date of the winner’s address verification for delivery of the prize.
DATA PROTECTION AND PUBLICITY
By entering the prize draw, you understand that for the purposes of administering the prize draw and prize fulfilment, it is necessary for the Promoter to hold and process your personal data.
If you have opted-in to receiving further information from the Promoter and/or its agents or suppliers, you agree that the relevant party may use and store these details to provide further information about their products and services (in accordance with the privacy policy of the relevant entity).
If you are the winner of the prize draw, you agree that the Promoter may use your name, image and county of residence to announce the winner of this prize draw and for any other reasonable and related promotional purposes, for no further consideration.
LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
The Promoter and its associated agencies, companies and distributors will not be liable for any loss (including, without limitation, indirect, special or consequential loss or loss of profits), expense or damage which is suffered or sustained (whether or not arising from any person’s negligence) in connection with this prize draw or accepting or using the prize, except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law (including liability for fraud or death or personal injury arising from negligence) in which case that liability is limited to the minimum allowable by law. Your statutory rights are not affected.
If you have opted-in to receive further information or marketing from any of the Promoter’s agents or suppliers involved in the administration of this prize draw, you understand and accept that the relevant third party will be solely responsible for any processing of your personal data for these purposes, that such processing will be governed by terms of that third party’s privacy policy and that the Promoter accepts no responsibility or liability in association with any such data processing for these purposes.
GENERAL
If there is any reason to believe that there has been a breach of these terms and conditions or if the Promoter believes that your conduct may be unlawful or otherwise bring the prize draw into disrepute, the Promoter may, at its sole discretion, reserve the right to make your entry void and will entitle the Promoter to exclude you from participating in the prize draw.
The decision of the Promoter regarding any aspect of the prize draw is final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into.
The Promoter reserves the right to suspend, cancel, or amend the prize draw where it becomes necessary to do so, with no liability to any entrants or third parties.
This prize draw and all issues arising out of it shall be governed in accordance with English Law and are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
