Muscadet - White French WineA single-vineyard from the western end of the Loire Valley, Luc and Jérôme Choblet's Fief Guérin is made from old vines grown in Muscadet's prestigious Côtes de Grandlieu appellation. After picking the grapes at full ripeness, they fermented the wine at cool temperatures before maturing it on its lees and bottling Sur Lie to give a refreshing and natural spritz. Crisp, fresh and attractively complex, this dry wine is perfect served chilled on its own as an aperitif. A delicious accompaniment for cold meats, poultry, fish and salads, it is also an enticing match for Chinese and Thai dishes. Luc and Jérôme adopted the environment-friendly techniques of <> 20 years ago - a respect for the soil that gives riper, healthier grapes.
