DOC Manduria red wine.
Made exclusively for Waitrose & Partners by masters of Primitivo, Produttori di Manduria, this rich wine is a testament to the 300 small, artisan growers who tend the 700 hectares of vines in this beautiful region. The winery was formed in 1932 to protect the winemaking traditions of the region, and today they still preserve traditional vine-growing methods while integrating modern research. This red is brimming with intense notes of blackberry, red berry, liquorice and fig with a hint of sweet chocolate on the finish. The tannins are silky smooth from long ageing in French oak barriques. The dark berry fruit flavours pair brilliantly with roasted or grilled red meats, and pasta with ragù sauce
