The mighty avocado

How to tell when an avocado is ripe

Patience and care is the key to buttery, smooth avocado. A very gentle squeeze around the top of the fruit will indicate ripeness. Storing them in the fridge will prevent any further ripening for a few days, and the stone helps prevent browning, so leave it in situ in any unused avocado halves to slow the oxidation process
