Storage and Usage

Keep refrigerated below 5°C. Once opened, consume within 1 day. Do not exceed use by date. For use by date see front of pack. Freeze as soon after purchase as possible and within the use by date. Use within one month. Defrost fully before use: do not refreeze once defrosted.

Serving suggestion: Chef's tip: Once you have rubbed the surface of the meat with oil and sprinkled with salt, you can use the grill function on your oven to add extra crunch to your pork joint, Carefully place the joint under a hot grill, and watch as the skin crackles. Be careful not to burn it! Then return it to the oven for the final 45 minutes.

Oven cook (From Chilled)

Preheat oven. For best results, empty the contents of the bag onto a wired rack in a suitably sized ovenproof dish, ensuring the meat is rind side up and discarding any cook juices. Set aside the sachet of sauce, and carefully score the rind on top of the joint using a sharp knife. Place the pork into the centre of the oven for 45 minutes. Remove from the oven, rub the top of the joint with light olive oil, and sprinkle liberally with salt. Return joint to the oven for a further 45 minutes. Remove from oven. For best results, leave to rest for at least 10 minutes. To carve, slice through the joint to separate the ribs from the meat. Portion the ribs and belly meat, and serve with the spiced apple sauce. (Time 1hour 30 mins, Oven: 220°C, Fan: 200°C, Gas: Gas Mark 7)
