Waitrose No1 Camembert Normandie AOP S5250g

There is Camembert and there is Camembert de Normandie - a marvellous addition to any cheeseboard, it is made purely with the rich milk of Normande cows. The cheese curds are then hand-ladled into moulds to give the cheese its famous buttery texture, before being matured for three weeks. The edible rind is white and downy. Inside you’ll discover an ivory colour with a white chalk centre when young - when fully mature, the cheese is soft and creamy to its unctuous core. Red Cow Camembert de Normandie was originally developed in 1791 by Marie Harel after encouragement from a priest, but its popularity soon spread outside of Normandy and France itself. To protect the original product from inferior imitations, Camembert de Normandie received a registered designation of origin (AOC) in 1983. It was later given a protected designation of origin (AOP) in 1996. A cheese experience like no other, this is Camembert with no holds barred.
