This classic whisky cocktail is super simple, and quick to prepare. 

Nick Grimshaw prepares this cocktail for Angela Hartnett and guest Rose Mataeo on episode 6, season 4 of Dish, the Waitrose podcast. It's served with marmalade pork belly, Japan Menyū Steamed Buns, Japan Menyū Edamame Beans and this shredded quick-pickled salad. Nick also serves Asahi beer and Ara Single Vineyard Pinot Gris.

Ingredients

  • 50ml Nikka Days Blended Whisky
  • soda water to top up glass
  • 1 unwaxed lemon slice for garnish

Method

  1. Pour the blended whisky into an ice-filled highball glass and stir well. Top up the glass with soda. Garnish with a slice of fresh lemon.
