A variety of spices

Mixed spice

An aromatic, warming combination of allspice, cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg and ginger, that is especially popular in Britain. Cardomom and coriander seeds are sometimes included in the mixture.

Uses: In pudding and cakes, especially fruit and Christmas cakes, Christmas pudding and gingerbread.

To store: Store in an airtight jar in a dry, cool place away from direct sunlight.
