Frozen berry sangria

Any red would work well here, bit a Merlot with its fruit flavours of dark plum, cherry and raspberry is ideal.

Ingredients

  • 750ml red wine
  • 125ml triple sec
  • 400g strawberries, hulled
  • 225g raspberries, plus 1 extra for garnish
  • 3 tbsp caster sugar
  • 4 cups crushed ice
  • 150g blueberries
  • 1 sprig of mint

Method

  1. Blend the red wine, triple sec, strawberries, raspberries, caster sugar and ice until smooth. Transfer to a freezer-proof just and freeze for about 1 hour.

  2. Remove 15 minutes before serving so it softens a little and stir. Garnish with blueberries, the extra raspberry and mint.
