- 400g can chickpeas
- 1 tbsp sunflower oil
- 2 tbsp maple syrup
- 1 tbsp light brown soft sugar
- ½ tsp ground cinnamon
Method
Drain and rinse a 400g can of chickpeas and dry well with kitchen paper or a clean tea towel. Place a piece of baking parchment in the air fryer basket.
Coat the chickpeas with 1 tbsp sunflower oil and air fry at 200ºC (or roast in a preheated oven on a large parchment-lined baking sheet at 200ºC, gas mark 6) for 10 minutes. Mix well with 2 tbsp maple syrup, 1 tbsp light brown soft sugar, ½ tsp ground cinnamon and a generous sprinkle of fine salt.
Return to the air fryer or oven for 10 minutes, shaking half way, until shiny and browned. They will be very hot, so leave to cool for 5-10 minutes before serving.
