    Rarebit topped gammon

    • Total time: 20 minutes 20 minutes

    Serves: 4


    2x essential Waitrose Unsmoked British Gammon Steaks
    100g essential Waitrose English Medium Cheddar Cheese, grated
    1 small essential Waitrose Onion, finely diced
    1 Waitrose Egg, beaten
    1 tsp essential Waitrose English Mustard

    1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
    2 tbsp lager (optional)


    1. Snip the fat of the gammon several times and cut each in half. Place on a grill rack under a preheated grill for 3-4 minutes each side.

    2. Meanwhile, mix the cheese, onion, egg, mustard, Worcestershire sauce and larger (if using).

    3. Spoon the rarebit mixture on top of the gammon and grill for a further 5 minutes until golden. Serve with new potatoes and green beans, if you like.
