Quick garlic, cheese & chive buns

Great as a quick lunch served with carved ham and cheese, or served straight from the oven with extra garlic butter spread on. Try adding Cheddar and English mustard for extra flavour.

    Ingredients

    • 225g self-raising flour
    • 1 pinch salt
    • 1 tsp baking powder
    • 50g Lurpak Butter With Crushed Garlic, diced
    • 1/2 x 25g pack chives, chopped
    • 50g Gruyère cheese, grated
    • 150ml semi skimmed milk

    Method

    1. Preheat the oven to 200°C, gas mark 6. Mix the flour, salt and baking powder in a bowl. Rub in the garlic butter to resemble breadcrumbs. Stir in the chives and cheese.

    2. Gradually blend in the milk to give a soft dough. Roll out on a floured surface to 2cm thick. Using a 6cm round cutter, cut out 8 buns and place on a baking tray. Brush with milk and bake for 10 minutes until risen and golden.
