Ingredients

  • 250g pack Essential Extra Mature Grated British Cheddar
  • 500g pack No.1 White Sourdough Bread
  • 80g pack No.1 Free Range Applewood Smoked Turkey
  • 185g pack tomato & mozzarella salad

Method

  1. Scatter 30g Cheddar over one large slice of sourdough. Top with 2 ruffled slices of turkey. Rip the mozzarella balls from the salad pack over the top, season with plenty of coarsely ground black pepper, then firmly press another slice of bread on top. Heat a large, heavy-based griddle or frying pan over a medium-low heat.

  2. Meanwhile, dip a pastry brush in the oil from the salad dressing and brush over the outsides of the sandwich. Cook in the pan or griddle, keeping the heat at medium-low, for 4-5 minutes on each side until the bread is crunchy and golden and the cheese has melted. Cut in half and serve with the dressed salad, halving the tomatoes first if you like.
