WHO CAN ENTER

This prize draw is open, subject to any other qualifications in these terms and conditions, to all residents of the United Kingdom (excluding Northern Ireland) who are aged 18 years or over with a valid email address, except for employees of the Promoter, its associated companies, agents, third parties or anyone else professionally connected with this prize draw. Proof of age may be required. By submitting a prize draw entry, you are agreeing to be bound by these terms and conditions. The instructions provided at the point of entry form part of the terms and conditions of this prize draw. In the event of a conflict, these terms and conditions take precedence. To enter the prize draw you must have an active My Waitrose membership. No purchase necessary. There is no charge to submit an entry via the website at waitrose.com/winwithjulesverne

DEADLINE FOR ENTRIES

Entries must be received between 00.01am on 14 October 2026 and 11.59pm on 3 November 2026 (the “Closing Date”). Entries received after the Closing Date will not be accepted.

HOW TO ENTER

To enter, simply go to waitrose.com/winwithjulesverne, follow the prize draw instructions at the top of the page and submit your details and other required information using the online form provided. There is a limit of one entry per person. Multiple entries submitted directly or with the use of any automated systems will not be entered into the draw. No responsibility will be accepted for entries that are lost, delayed, mislaid or damaged in transit, regardless of the cause, including, for example, as a result of any equipment failure, technical malfunction, systems, network, server, computer hardware or software failure of any kind. Those entries not in accordance with the rules will be void and will entitle the Promoter to exclude the entry from the prize draw; any entry containing false, incomplete or misleading information will be void and will entitle the Promoter to exclude the entry from the prize draw. 

THE PRIZE

There is one prize available to be won. The prize consists of two places on Jules Verne's China Highlights tour in 2027, including return economy flights from the UK (available UK departure airports will depend on airline schedules and availability at the time of booking. The winner may choose to depart from their preferred local UK airport, subject to availability, and available departure airports will be confirmed when the prize is redeemed), breakfast daily, six lunches, four dinners, and the services of guides and a local representative throughout the tour. The prize will be provided as a single tour booking for two people and no cash alternative will be offered. Dates available are 8-18 March 2027, 19-29 April 2027, 10-20 May 2027, 20-30 September 2027, 18-28 October 2027 and 8-18 November 2027. No other dates are available.

Journeying from Beijing to Xi'an by high-speed rail before flying onwards to Shanghai, this 11-day tour takes in some of China's greatest highlights, including the Great Wall of China, the Terracotta Army, ancient Pingyao and modern Shanghai. Along the way, you'll gain a deeper insight into Chinese culture through local encounters, regional traditions and memorable culinary experiences, from a traditional Peking duck dinner to the flavours and street-food culture of Xi'an's historic Muslim Quarter. Highlights of the tour include: the Forbidden City, Tian’anmen Square, Temple of Heaven, Great Wall of China, Hutong Tour and a Peking duck dinner, a high-speed train to Pingyao and visit to the Shuanglin Temple, Pingyao visits, a high-speed train to Xi’an to explore the Muslim Quarter, Terracotta Army, Big Wild Goose Pagoda and a dumpling dinner and show. It includes flying to Shanghai, walking along the Bund, Shanghai Museum, Old Town and Jin Mao Tower, Zhujiajiao water town, Xintiandi and Former French Concession. Any travel expenses, or any other expenses in the general use of and enjoyment of the prize, that the winners or their guests incur are the sole responsibility of the winners or their guests. Visas for China need to be obtained by the winner(s) themselves prior to travelling. Flight upgrades can be purchased at an additional cost. Prizes are subject to availability. They are non-transferable, non-refundable and, unless stated, there are no cash alternatives. In the event that the prize is out of stock or if circumstances beyond the Promoter’s control make it necessary to do so, the Promoter reserves the right to substitute another item, in its sole discretion, of equal or higher value. 

WINNER SELECTION

All valid and, if applicable, correct entries received by the Closing Date will be entered into a prize draw, and the winners will be picked at random. The winner’s details (surname and county only) will be available for one month after the Closing Date by sending a request to the Promoter by at Waitrose Limited, Media Team, Floor 2, Waite House, Doncastle Road, Southern Industrial Area, Bracknell RG12 8YA, enclosing a stamped self-addressed envelope, or alternatively by emailing customerserviceteam@waitrose.co.uk.

WINNER NOTIFICATION

Winners will be notified by email, text or phone call as soon as practicable after the prize draw, using the contact details provided with the prize draw entry. The winners will be required to respond within 30 days of notification (unless otherwise stated) confirming their acceptance of the prize. In the event winners do not respond to communications within this period or if any prize is declined, the Promoter reserves the right to disqualify that winner and draw another winner. Please allow 30 days from the date of the winner’s address verification for delivery of the prize.

LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

The Promoter and its associated agencies, companies and distributors will not be liable for any loss (including, without limitation, indirect, special or consequential loss or loss of profits), expense or damage which is suffered or sustained (whether or not arising from any person’s negligence) in connection with this prize draw or accepting or using the prize, except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law (including liability for fraud or death or personal injury arising from negligence) in which case that liability is limited to the minimum allowable by law. Your statutory rights are not affected. If you have opted-in to receive further information or marketing from any of the Promoter’s agents or suppliers involved in the administration of this prize draw, you understand and accept that the relevant third party will be solely responsible for any processing of your personal data for these purposes, that such processing will be governed by terms of that third party’s privacy policy and that the Promoter accepts no responsibility or liability in association with any such data processing for these purposes.  

GENERAL

If there is any reason to believe that there has been a breach of these terms and conditions or if the Promoter believes that your conduct may be unlawful or otherwise bring the prize draw into disrepute, the Promoter may, at its sole discretion, reserve the right to make your entry void and will entitle the Promoter to exclude you from participating in the prize draw. The decision of the Promoter regarding any aspect of the prize draw is final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into. The Promoter reserves the right to suspend, cancel, or amend the prize draw where it becomes necessary to do so, with no liability to any entrants or third parties. This prize draw and all issues arising out of it shall be governed in accordance with English Law and are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
